On Saturday, May 31, 2025, the Beverly Hills West (CA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated celebrated four decades of service, friendship, and sisterhood at the Cameo Beverly Hills Hotel. “A Ruby Red Affair,” our 40th Anniversary celebration, honored a legacy rooted in strength, passion, and purpose, symbolized by the ruby. Guided by the leadership of Chapter President Zna Portlock Houston and chaired by Jeanine Black, daughter of chapter organizer Joyce T. Black, and Linda Valdry, daughter of charter member and our second president Doris Valdry, the evening embraced the theme “Honoring Our History and Advancing Our Future.”

The celebration opened with a sparkling reception and continued with elegant ruby and black-tie attire that reflected the significance of the milestone. Each moment highlighted the impact of the Beverly Hills West (CA) Chapter and our longstanding commitment to community service and civic engagement. The program featured tributes, music, and personal reflections that uplifted our collective spirit and acknowledged the leaders and members whose dedication shaped our chapter’s foundation.

Beyond the glamour, “A Ruby Red Affair” advanced our mission. Proceeds from the event went toward funding our scholarships and supporting our community programming; reinforcing our commitment to empowering future generations through education and service.

This anniversary celebration stood as a declaration of unity, purpose and vision. As the Beverly Hills West (CA) Chapter looked toward the next 40 years, the evening marked a defining moment in our story, illuminating our legacy of history, hope, and sisterhood.
